School Delays
Q. If school opening is delayed by weather conditions, etc., for one or two hours, are schools still required to serve breakfast if the school is one that is mandated to have a breakfast program?
A. No. The law as written does not require schools to serve breakfast beyond their normal "breakfast period."
Q. If a bus is delayed and comes in after the regularly scheduled breakfast period, are students still entitled to breakfast?
A. Yes. All students must have access to the program. If students are late through no fault of their own, they must still be able to obtain a meal. The school must offer the program to all on the late bus who want to be served.
