| Subject: | Food Recall Of Canned Meat Products That May Contain Clostridium Botulinum |
Castleberry's Food Company in Augusta, Georgia has expanded its recall of canned meats due to the possible contamination of products that can cause a life-threatening illness. The problem appears to have occurred as a result of processing malfunctions.
The following four memos from the Food and Drug Administration, the New York State Department of Health, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service detail the health risk and the expanded lists of products affected. Be sure and read all memos to ensure that you do not serve these items to your customers and/or family.
