New York Harvest for New York Kids' Week

 

     New York Harvest for New York Kids' Week is scheduled for October 1 - 9, 2005.  The week supports our efforts to improve the nutritional quality of school meals by increasing the service of locally grown fruits and vegetables.  Schools are encouraged to participate in projects that demonstrate the correlation of agriculture, farmers' markets and good nutrition.  Celebrating the harvest can provide an educational opportunity that inspires school children and their families to improve their diets.  We encourage you to feature local products on your menus in the fall.  Questions on purchasing locally should be directed to Fran O'Donnell at (518) 473-8781.
