There are now two Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notices about recalled canned goods from the New Era Canning Company.  Our office was just notified by Tom Osterhout, NYS Director of OGS, Food Distribution and Warehousing, that United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) commodities are now a part of this recall. Therefore, please contact his office immediately at (518) 474-5122 for additional information.  There are no illnesses or injuries associated with these recalled products at this time.  Nevertheless, schools or states may have purchased some New Era canned goods on their own, and FDA wants to be sure that states and schools have seen the recall notices, and that they have searched their inventories for any of the recalled products.
